When I engage the starter it usually(when cool) hesitates almost as if it has no intention of starting and then it will turn over and usually run the first or second time. Howver, every once in awhile it takes three or four tries before it runs and that is when I start thinking about my poor 6V battery running out and the long haul back to the shop with battery in hand for a recharge. My neighbor was saying he thought it could be a compression issue?? I kind of nodded my head and thought to myself "I think I will post a message on the YT board"... So here it is any help is always appreciated.
