Was this with the TA forward or the TA back? If it was forward, you are lucky the tractor stalled, you more than likely would have torn the front end off the tractor or the bottoms off of the plow bouncing through the furrow at 7 mph. For plowing, as others have said 3rd or 4th low is a good place to start. You could also use 1st high as well, as there isn't much of a difference between 1st high and 4th low. I don't know about turbos on IH tractors, but the turbo on our 4-53T detroit in our truck makes a heck of a whistle. As others have said previously, before you start tearing down the motor, get it dyno tested to see what you have. Otherwise you might drop a couple thousand dollars to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place!!
