I have done a lot of posts on here getting tips, etc. There is a man named FIT( on the JD site) who seems to be the Guru, Althoug there are lots of experts on this site also. Paint and grease just falls off. Rust takes a little longer, but the black stuff is just oxidation.. Use a bronze brush or scotch brite pad and was off under clear water. I am pleased with the process. You can just walk off an let it do its work. Gene
