My occasional miss at idle was cured by setting the timing at idle by ear until the engine smoothed out and rpm picked up slightly. Seems that timing by the book is usually slightly off. A slightly rough idle, as stated by Jim is normal. Also, the max power setting of your carb is obtained by turning the main jet 5 turns out, it can be turned in 1 or 2 turns for better economy. I doubt if this affects the idle though.
