Hi Rex Steering box bearing wear is quite common on the 434 usually the steering colum top plastic bush wears and lets water into the box. All the parts are available from John Sambrook at Repair and Maintenance Services Ltd at Dudley here in the UK. His phone number is 01384350136 and he ships parts to Austrailia.
