I have a 1954 Super H Farmall, and have been using it to pull a 12-foot grain drill this spring. The engine smokes a lot when pulling (out of the crankcase tube) and burns about a quart of oil per 12-hour day of running. Looks as though the motor needs rings, etc....can someone give me an idea of what this will cost at an independent shop? Also, other than planting wheat, the tractor does not do much the rest of the year, so is there some type of oil conditioner that I can add to get by for awhile? I should add that the tractor has noticeably lost some power over the past few years. Thanks for any advice.
