The PTO control lever is located just in front of the left brake housing. To the rear is engaged, forward is disengaged. When forward it tends to be in the way of your left leg. Live PTO refers to being able to have the PTO running while disengaging the ground speed of the transmission. This is accomplished by using a two stage clutch. Push the clutch part way down and it releases the transmission input shaft. All the way down also releases the PTO drive. Independent PTO refers to having separate clutch controls for the PTO and transmission. An IPTO can be engaged without stopping the transmission.
