Chad: The down side I see with the 72" mower is uneven ground. Fine if your ground is perfectly level and flat. I notice a couple of 72" mowers very near me, and you can see where they have been scalping the sod. I have a 60" and have a few rough areas. Very noticable difference how bad the extra 12" causes this. When that starts happening the mower soon gets dull, and dull mowers take a lot of extra power. I notice this if I strike sod with my mower and take the sharp edge off, doesn't seem to bother SA very much on power, but you soon notice the belt and pullies warm up. While the blades are nice and sharp, I hardly notice the belt and pulley heat. Also, when blades are sharp, I can head into heavy grass a foot high.
