I use a 72" woods finish mower on the back of an IH 140 without problem. Been using it for almost 25 yrs now. Started out as a RM 500 with 60" cut till the deck rusted out. Made a 72" deck out of 304 SSt, galvanized the gear box, and made the belt/pulley cover plates out of 316 SSt. Used the original spindals/pulleys with RM 660 blades to get 72" width. Course my blade tip speed is a little higher than stock, but cuts great in 2nd gear (& 3rd) with the 140's horse power in the low 20's. Oh, and I haven't had any rust problems for the last 15 yrs or so.
