Super A pulling the brake drum

I'm making my way thought the finals on our 48 SA and ran into a stubborn brake drum. Of course it is on the right hand side with the long diff shaft to work around. What is the easiest way to remove the drum so I can get the shaft out of the final drive housing? Should I press the shaft off the drum and out of the housing in a press, or rig a puller to get the drum of first? I would appreciate any scholarly advice, Greg
