460 farmall oil pump

my 460 has a c-301 gas in it.the other day it had 40 lbs of oil pressure.the next morning i started it up and it showed no pressure at all,but it went up in the line about 12 inches.it used to go up in the line farther.i took the oil pump out,nothin was plugged up,the gears were tite,nothing seemed to be broke.put it back togehter with new oil and still the same thing.anyone know what it mite be?
