Farmall C leaks water

A friend has a C that leaks water/antifreeze out of the inspection hole on the bottom front of the bell housing. No water in the oil. I have a service manual but it does not show things clear enough to tell if there is a soft plug in the back of the block that is hidden by the bell housing. Water/antifreeze comes out the hole as fast as one can pour it in the radiator. Does anyone know if there is one there or if not, where is the leak?
