Is this a problem that occured after you made a change, such as installing wider tires? Wider wheels and tires can greatly increase the force needed to steer the wheels. The axle is designed so that the axis of the steering spindle, if extended to the ground, would come out in the center of the tire tread. This allows the tire to pivot on the ground when steering. Moving the tire out, away from the axis, forces the tire to move in an arc rather than pivioting. If the tires are not the problem, it is possible that the steering pressure relief valve has failed or the o-ring on the valve has blown out. Any leak or other problems in the MCV should cause some change in the brake operation while steering or cause the oil pressure light to come on. Problems with the steering hand pump, the control valve, or the steering cylinder should still be noticable with the tractor moving.
