Any oil with a w is rated for winter use. My brother has run 15w-40 in both his Cummins pickups year-round and has had no problems whatsoever. We also run 15w-40 in almost all of our farm tractors, the only exception is the old loader tractor that is run every day gets straight 10w in the winter.
