10 40 all the time. High quality oil, not store brands. Some use 15-40 as well. Multi wt oils have
the ability to stay thin when cold, and not get thin when hot. Viscosity stabilizers are synthetic components that are only a problem if way overheated, or abused with additives (poured in by hopeful owners) that are not compatible. Two main reasons vehicles last 3 times longer now than they did in the 60s. Quality of oil, and advanced metalurgy. I'll give Multi vis oil 60% of the responsibility. JimN
