you gotta wonder why a 706 was ever made so stripped down like this. try finding a basic stripped down tractor today--the only option in the matter you have is open platform. weird anamolies in the automotive world back in the day too.
was it a "hitch delete" option? i've always assumed some type of lift with rockshaft was standard equipment on those--or was the lift actually the option that the dealers just stocked to promote an upsale, much like the car dealers and the "packages" they stock?
what's this tractor's history? i'm envisioning an old timer replacing his M or W9, who maybe bought the belt pulley option too. it still has a rear hydraulic pump right?
i think i'm falling in love with it...:)

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
