You'll need 756-specific parts to convert a 706. I learned that the hard way, I bought the entire shift linkage off of a 766 to convert our 706. Found out that 706 and 756 are shorter than the rest of the 06, 26, 56, and 66 series. The vertical linkages were too long, and you also need to switch out the right steering support casting, which was also too tall. I was able to have the vertical linkages modified, and I found the steering support for a 756 in a junk yard. You can use parts from any 26, 56, or 66 series gear drive (aside from the 756 and 1566, of course) to convert a 806 or 1206.
