Hydraulic Diverter

I have the thing plumbed so pressure is going to the diverter and to hydraulic pump on steering column. I have the EX (excess flow) and the oil coming out of the pump on the steering column teed together. That flows to a port on the left side of the hyraulic reservoir. There was a male pioneer coupler there and I removed it. Will this port accept oil flowing from the diverter? Right now the power steering does not work!!! Must be a blond moment!!!!!!!!!1
