Another thing to check is the valve (camshaft) timing. Frequently on this engine stress from the hydraulic pump causes the nut to loosen on the end of the camshaft. Then either the cam drive key shears or the cam drive gear hub breaks causing the gear to slip relative the camshaft. Depending on how far the cam goes out of time the tractor will either lose power, or it may not run at all.
