safety of IH 240 w/o drawbar

This is an IH 240 with the (factory/dealer?) 3 point conversion. It fits in where the 2 point hitch was and has an "A" shape to it. No weights on the front, only in the rear tires. I have a bar that goes into the lower arms that will let me use drawbar implements. This summer I'll be skidding some logs. Can I hook to this drawbar safely? I understand about the log getting hooked on the ground and staying away from the side hills. And I would never hook to the top link (something I learned on these pages).
