Thanks Gene, I think that is why the pipe I have was cut and ended up twisted. I have to remove the diverter from a cracked and busted manifold. It is off and soaking now. Hopefully I can get them apart. Lift system worked perfectly but leaked down until I pulled the piston out and soaked it to swell the seal. I used soapy water and it now holds pressure for several hours. Do you have any diverter parts-like the base if I break it?
