TMAC, thanks, you may end up helping me more than YT. The YT archives are only for "neg ground" tractors, but you may help me more by being a "model" and answering these questions: 1 - Is your tractor positive ground, that is - is the pos terminal battery cable grounded "under the starter mounting bolt?" 2 - You say your alternator has one line out for the stator to the pos term of the battery. Does it go straight to the battery from the alternator, or does it go through the switch, and/or the ammeter? 3 - Does it work? - I mean really work and keep the battery charged completely. 4 - Is the alternator a Delco-Remy and has it been modified in any way? 5 - Are any wires attached to the "field" lead on the alternator? 6 - What is your tractor?
