Farmall H dipstick

Help!!! My 1940 H is missing the bayonet, or dipstick, under the lift-all oil filler cap. This seems to be a common condition, as I haven't been able to find one to measure. I have a piece of 1/4" rod threaded on one end all ready to use, but I need to know the overall length the rod should be, as well as the length to the full mark. If someone has an H with the lift-all dipstick, & would measure these two dimensions for me, from the top of the pipe that the cap screws on to, I would sure appreciate it!
