Allis Chalmers with added alternator

I am fixing a WD Allis Chalmers. There seems to be electical problems. We can get the Ammeter to show a charge, but it drains the battery overnight. If we get it so it doesn't drain the battery the gauge doesn't show a charge. It will show discharge when you turn the key on, and it stays that way when the tractor is running. Does anyone have any ideas, or wiring diagrams the could e-mail me? Any help would be appreciated.
