On this same topic, someone in a previous discussion group mentioned that whether the block is a 248 or 264 is also printed on the right side of the block. I have not been able to find those numbers unless they are in code such as you have mentioned. I remember a block serial number on a flat plate toward the front right side of the block. Mine was, DBKM******X1. The X1 I understand indicates it is a gas engine. Maybe someone can adequately cover this topic. Thanks in advance. Jim
