Olaf, ten years outside will let water leak in around decking boltheads, shifter, and the deck oil plug. There will be condensation as well. If you drain a tractor and the oil is the colour of cardbord it has a lot of water in it. You are lucky that the water freezing did not crack any casting ,especially at the bottom where the bull gear runs.Using pipe dope or the plumbers tape may help seal the deck bolts but the best advice is not to leave tractors exposed to the elements when they don't have to be. Both My H's had a lot of water in the when I got them. My guess is they never had the oil changed in the rear end and almost 50 years of condensation and the odd rain shower left each with over a gallon of water, actually ,having sat several months before I changed the oil, I got very clean, clear water when I pulled the plug....keep those H's garaged from Mike in Exeter Ontario.
