Farmall B Ring Gear

I bought a new ring gear for my B Farmall from Case IH and it is different than any one I have bought before. It doesn't have the teeth beveled on the one side like all others I have bought. The Case IH parts guy claims that is OK. I don't want to get the tractor back together and find out that I have to replace the ring gear again because the starter crashes into the side of the gear teeth. Can anyone comment? Roger
