Crankshaft Grinding Attachment ?

A little off the subject but. Has anyone ever heard of a rod journal grinding attachment that will actually regrind a rod journal while crankshaft is still in the engine? A fellow tractor buddy of mine has old Oliver crawler dozer that has a spun rod bearing. Probably because when he dropped the oil pan the oil sump was laying in the bottom of the pan.One of the old timers in our area told him that years ago there was an outfit that came around and offered this service. Ive been a toolmaker for 30 yrs and have never heard of this contraption. Was wondering if anyone else has seen one or knows were I can find a picture of one. My suggestion to my buddy was pull the crank and regrind, since that part is very rear.
