Hendrik, I agree with your assesment of using only one seal.Ive used only one seal many times with great results. Other than a shaft diameter being worn in one spot, in which case I would try and relocate the new seal to a position on that shaft that is not worn that bad.Since old seals were much longer you usually have room to move the seal around in the counterbore. scotty
