HI MARK, I tried to heat mine and tap it off. Not enough heat and to much tap cracked my fly wheel. After priceing some new ones and throwing up. I looked at a local salvage yard and found one that looked brand new. They sold me the fly wheel with the like new ring gear for $20.If I remember right they had some new ring gears without the fly wheel that where about $20 - $25. Just me but after spliting the old C I didn't want to do it again cause I got cheap on a ring gear.
