There was just quite a bit of noticeable slack in the rod bearings, and after taking them apart I see that they are pitted and a couple of them have some scratches I don't like. Pits are probably the result of short running times and condensation (water) in the oil. The water turns to acid and eats bearings for lunch. Also the fact that it has been sitting 25 years down by the river doesn't help. I believe the oil pump should be ok. What's inside of there to fix anyways? Never really gone this deep into an IH engine, usually just take heads off and have valves ground. Steven
