I have seen this trouble before on an AC D-17. Ran great at an idle and about half way rev up. Then start missing and backfiring. The trouble was had great voltage at the disturber at a idle but would fall off when you rev it up. Had a heck of a time of it trying to find it. Change points and coil before I checked the voltage. It was a loose wire under the dash. Seen the same thing on my neighbor’s 400, had a bad resistor and the voltage would fall off when you rev it up. John In Iowa
