Hass is correct. 12v and Alt. conversions go to a neg. ground. However you can buy a voltage regulator for either ground on the 6v generator. If tractor is 6v with a neg. ground check out the regulator. Your battery has to be hooked up according to which kind of regulator you have and the generator has to be polarized to charge the right way. Also your wires need to be switched on amp guage and coil when a tractor is converted from pos. ground to neg. It could be that someone converted the A from pos. ground 6v to neg. ground 6v. You might take a better look at everything.
