Those live pto's engaged using something similar to brake bands and more than likely are out of adjustment. Pick up an operators manual from your dealer or Binder Books. My 300 manual had the info, but sold it along with the 300 tractor. Maybe someone else can email you with the procedure for properly adjusting the bands. There also is a seasonal disconnect switch under the clutch area of tractor. Once your pto is going, can you stop it with a chunk of wood? You may want to check out the switch first.....
