Leroy, is the piece out of the actual cylinder wall, or the piston sleeve (the line that sets in the block?) if it is the sleeve, chances are you'll be ok with a new sleeve, although if you're in that far, I'd put all new sleeves, pistons, rings, wrist pins, rod and main bearings, and have the rods and crank worked, and do a valve job.
