Super A -- High Crop version?

I heard that the Super A was available in a high-crop version. Do you know how high it was compared to the regular Super A? Or, I know the height of an A, is the Super A (not high-crop version) as tall as it or larger? Because the one that my grandpa owned is higher than the plain A.
Is there a certain prefix in the serial number that would say if it is a high-crop version or not? Thanks for any posts!
