Wife might not like this but it worked for me once.I had a carb that was in pretty much the same condition.Years of crude gunk and whatever else was on there!I tried many things and some worked ok while others didnt even make a scratch in it.I got to thinking about some of the machine shops around here.In SC they can no longer use anything but hot water to clean engine parts.I had carried a block to my machinist and it came out looking like brand new metal!SO...................................I took one of the wifes old pots and dropped the carb in it and covered it with water and put it on the stove fro about three hours on boil and it came out great!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wifes still mad about that!
