Sod, In 57 the Farmall 450 was sold against the John Deere 720. The 350 against the 620. At that time Farmall was still the most popular by far in our area. This was true untill the introduction of the new modern line 4010, 3010. Nebraska Test hp of 450 vs 720: 450 gas 57.05, 720 gas 59.12, 450 lp 56.71, 720 lp 59.61, 450 diesel 50.77, 720 diesel 58.84. Nebraska Test hp of 350 vs 620: 350 gas 44.94, 620 gas 48.68, 350 lp 42.73, 620 lp 50.34, 350 diesel 40.23, 620 diesel was not offered. As stated, although the Deere's had more hp in most cases, the Farmall's were by far most popular in our area at this time. Also in our area, LPG was the most popular fuel, followed by gas with diesel way last in popularity at this time. Diesel did not come on big untill the 60's.
