those radiator drains were a pipe nipple with a wing cap. i've got one on mine but they are rare in this part of the country. most old i.h. tractors around here had a wood plug carved to fit the hole and twisted in. the others are right, get some antifreeze and don't worry about the freeze. the tractor was designed for water, the curtain on the front of the radiator only allowed enough cold air thru to keep the engine from overheating. when the farmer was done with the tractor for the day, he drained the radiator, and sometimes took the water inside to stay warm so that when he poured it back in the radiator the next day, it would warm the block enough to help start the engine. you'll notice that the radiator fill hole was designed so that you could fill it with a pail.
