Can't hurt, would probably help. It's kind of a pain in the neck, having to remove the rockers and reset the valves, but easier and better than some of the alternatives! On mine (both with the new gasket and when I retorqued it later) I set the wrench for 55# and went over the nuts in the usual order, upped it to 60# and went back over them, up another 5# etc. I don't have my books here, but a recommended range of 70-75# sticks in my mind. Perhaps one of the other folks here has the I&T book handy could confirm that for you. For what it's worth, I found two of mine had lost torque from when I first put the head back down. Sure hope tightening things up fixes the problem.
