Kinda feel dumb now, but if anybody else wants to know, the dowel pin is 3.2 inches from extreme left end or bracket and .80 inches from rear of transmission cover. I went out and took a good light and a magnifier and found I could see a crack of light all the way around under the bracket, managed to drive a couple screwdrivers, I mean small prybars, under it and wiggled. I was kinda worried the neighbors were gonna call the cops because of the wiggling, but it was moving, so I kept it up and finally it came off. I've been fighting that thing for three days without any progress and finally, success. Now if I can just remember why I wanted to take it off...
