Paul - That's a puzzler! The continuity test results with the switch unwired says the switch is OK. (Continuity test with the switch wired up is meaningless since the meter also then reads continuity on the alternator #1 line....) Now assuming the belt is tight and the pulley is not slipping, the only other possiblility I can think of is resistance in the idiot lamp bulb or wiring has become too high to "turn on" the alternator. Verify by temporarily connecting both the #1 and #2 terminals to the BAT terminal at the alternator with the engine running at 1/2 speed or higher. If it now charges chances are you need to replace the a warning lamp with one that draws more current. A #168 or #194 automobile side marker bulb is a good choice.... Drop some airline tix in the mail and I'll make you a "house call" - you're MO weather is sounding pretty good to me!! Bob M...
