your problem is not in the radiator it is in the block its got junk inide if you were to pull the sleeves you would get a whole bumch of junk out if the problem is still there and i would bet it is a water pump is a quick fix the temp guages were a option they mount on the gov housing the senders were attached to the lower radiator housing yours cabn be drilled and tapped for the sender the guage mounts on the gov housing
