You may not need a total rebuild. If the charge pump is weak that might be all you need to replace. To find this out you need to have some one flowrate the transmision to see what it needs and that is the only way. The repair manual tells how and that is the only way. That is why the 86 in the other forum is hard to say because the flex plate is out so can not test the hydro with out replacing the flex plate. Towing will not take out the flex plate
