Keith my reply was meant for JD70. As he stated the tractor has probably been fixed long ago and is most likely ok now. I have my opinion of the John Deere engines of that era and actually ran some of those tractors back then and speak from experience. Yes IH did have engineering problems from time to time but John Deere had their share also. My friend who spent $7000 on his 4630 engine at less than 3000 hours still thinks there is nothing else out there but Green.
