1948 Farmall Cub, Wiring for 12 Volt Alternator

I'm Converting a 1948 Farmall Cub, generator wiring to a 12 Volt, one wire GM type Alternator.
How do you wire the Ammeter so it will function
properly, using the original light switch and
seperate on off switch? The Alternator is self-regulating--thus no regulator is being used. Thanks.
