When I split these tractors I built braces that bolt to the frame of the tractor and angle out so you have a 4 foot spread where they contact the floor. I put wheels on the bottom of my brace brackets so I could roll the front away from the rear of the tractor. It makes it extremely easy to bolt the tractor back together. There is a pocket roller bearing on the end of the transmission input shaft. When putting the TA housing and the transmission back together this pocket bearing can be damaged if extreme care is not taken. When I split my tractors I replaced all the seals, clutchs, pressure plates and rebuilt the TA with a HD sprague kit. I did not want to split them again.
