International 444 Disc Brakes

I'm overhauling my fathers 444 and this tractor has always had brake problems. From what I gather talking to others, this is due to a design problem and this tractor model has always had the problem. My question is, have any of you guys came up with a fix over the passed 30 some years this tractor has been out? I've got all the new parts, disc's, springs, balls and boots. But everybody tells me they will work for a while but will "glase over". Hopfully you can help before I put them all back together.
