Hi Paul - I have been working on my Super M for a while and just put new plugs, condenser, points etc. It had a constant miss that didn't seem to be ingition related. I am a complete novice at valve adjustment but i had a little help who showed me where to put the feeler gauge. We just did it with the engine off and cold. One valve had about half an inch clearance. Once we fired it up it ran smooth. Moral is that getting pretty close can be a big help. I was surprised such a simple adjustment made that big an impact.
