Lowell - What you need is an open center, 3-position, 4-way control valve in place of the two position valve you've got now. The 3 valve positions give you "raise-hold-lower" capability for the remote cylinder. You will probably also need to add an auxiliary hydraulic reservoir - the belly pump reservoir will likely be insufficent for what you will be asking it to do. For the remote cylinder, the stroke will be determined by the distance disc lift mechanism has to move to provide a complete lift of the disc. The cylinder diameter required will determined by the weight of the disc and by the pressure rating of your pump. Your local C-IH dealer or Central Tractor can help with valve and cylinder selection. Or if neither are nearby, an industrial fluid power (hydraulics) distributor is also good source of guidance and parts.
